KBP’s Annual Forum

Due to our recent application to become a Local Nature Partnership, we’ll be hosting a normal meeting of the Steering Group on the 13th of September instead of the Forum. Our intention was to dedicate this year’s forum to the Target Review but given the wider remit of LNPs, it’ll be more appropriate to carry out the review with the input of new partners and to ensure that we get the science right by using the data being generated by the ARCH project.

The meeting agenda will be circulated next week.

National Friends Group Conference

The National Federation of Parks and Green Spaces (NFPGS) are holding their first conference on World Parks Day, Saturday 17th September in Birmingham. The conference will be free to all friends and community groups and following a successful Awards for All bid, some money is available to help pay for travel subsidies; the amount given to each delegate will depend on the overall number of delegates who attend and distance travelled. The conference will focus on a variety of topics including finding funding for your green space, nature and biodiversity and health in parks including other topical subjects. The full programme for the day will also be announced in the next couple of weeks.

The advert for the conference and the application form are now available on the GreenSpace website under the NFPGS webpage.

The closing date for all application forms is the 24th August so interested delegates will need to send in their forms as soon as possible to ensure that they have a place on the day. Please pass this along to community groups in your patch.
